Job Description:

The ideal candidate for this position will manage the entirety of the assigned mine(s). Responsibilities include leading and managing all safety/environmental efforts, site planning, mine development, quality control and maintenance functions.

What You Will Do

  • Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures for safety/environmental programs and as set by regulatory agencies.
  • Provide strong leadership through supervision of plant team, training, growth and development opportunities.
  • Manage daily work assignments of the team; ensure proper training and necessary equipment requirements are met. Work side by side with the plant team to accomplish production goals.
  • Work with sales to set and execute the production schedule to meet business needs.
  • Deliver product quality and customer service excellence.
  • Complete all daily reporting necessary to the assigned mine(s).
  • Act as liaison between regulatory inspectors and management.
  • Review/understand monthly variable costs reporting; maintain excellent cost control processes.
  • Monitor financials and strive to continuously improve through collaboration and performance management.
  • Regular and timely attendance is required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

What You Will Need

  • 5+ years' experience in managing a sand and gravel mine operation preferred.
  • Knowledge/understanding of MSHA regulations and possess a strong personal commitment to safety.
  • Working knowledge/understanding of aggregate equipment in a mining environment. Experience in equipment operation.
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to multitask and prioritize tasks. Strong planning skills.
  • Ability to lead, manage and motivate the team to create employee ownership of safety, production and quality.
  • Ability to work extended hours, and weekends as required by business needs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
